Navigating the College Admissions Journey

Ion Insurance will be hosting a college admissions workshop for parents and high school students in 10th and 11th grade on Saturday, April 2nd from 1:00PM to 2:30PM at the Ion Bank branch in Southbury, located at 363 Main Street South.
Eric Dobler of Dobler College Consulting will be running the workshop. He will take you beyond basic rankings and popularity contests to help students learn how to improve their chances of admission, save money, and avoid the most common mistakes.
Eric Dobler spent thirteen years as an admission counselor and academic advisor prior to launching Dobler College Consulting. As a college consultant, he serves as a guide, coach and advocate for students throughout their college admissions process.   • The difference between ACT and SAT, when to take them, and how to interpret scores
  • What to write and what not to write about in college essays
  • The importance of activities and the value of resume for recommendations, interviews, and admission
  • Financial aid, expected costs, net price calculators, and strategies for reducing the cost of college
