Connecticut Cares

Connecticut Cares
Connecticut health Insurance is changing in a changing world. In Connecticut, rates for individual plans and small group health plans are filed with ConnectiCare at least once a year. ConnectiCare often reviews their rates and takes action when needed. They submit a new filing to the Insurance Department when it is needed. Rate proposals through ConnectiCare are generally filed at least between 90 days in advance to the proposed effective Date to implement an improved rate change.
ConnectiCare is currently filing a rate change request of 13.1% for HMO and Point of Service plans and 15.3% for Flex Point of Service coinsurance plans. We, as well as ConnectiCare would like feedback about the proposed rate change.
How Will I Be Effected:
Health Insurance in Connecticut is changing and this rate change will affect your current rate on or after its effective date. DO NOT WORRY! You will receive a notice about the approved rate change 30 days prior to its effective date. The Connecticut Insurance Department needs to approve, disapprove or modify the rate change. Nothing is permanent as of today June 28, 2013. Any change to your specific premium cannot be determined at this time. DON’T FRET! You will be noted.
