With heat waves occurring regularly in various parts
of the nation it is essential for employers to make sure outdoor workers are
protected from dangerous heat conditions.
Heat

·

stroke, most severe, occurs when the body cannot cool itself
down and the person’s body temp. rises above 104 degrees. Symptoms include: red
skin, confusion or convulsions. Heat stroke is a medical emergency and the
paramedics should be called.
·
Heat
exhaustion is a type of heat related illness which
will leave you with a headache, nausea, dizziness and profuse sweating. Workers

to rest in

Allow employees to take frequent breaks
·
Provide workers with water and remind
them to drink constantly
·
Try scheduling tasks for cooler parts of
the day ie. Early morning or later at night
·
Train workers and supervisors on

Be sure to have Connecticut Insurance to protect
employees as well as employer in the event of a loss. Workers' Compensation is a
necessity when having people work for you to make sure you’re covered in the
event an employee is hurt or if you an employee needs medical attention, on the
job. CT health insurance is also imperative to provide employees with much needed medical expenses.
