Ion Insurance to Sponsor the 2015 Kids Fun Run at the Cheshire Half Marathon and 5K
The 2015 Ion Bank Cheshire Half Marathon and 5K will be held at Cheshire High School on April 26th. Ion Insurance will be the sponsor of the Kids Fun Run which is a non-competitive race for children 12 and under. For children ages 6 and under the race will be a quarter mile, and for children ages 7-12 the race will be a half mile. All participants will receive a t-shirt and all who finish will receive a ribbon. The Kids Fun Run is a great way for your child to have a fun time and let out some of that pent up energy from being inside all winter.
You can register your child in the 2015 Ion Insurance Kids Fun Run today and up until the race. From February 2nd to April 25th, registration costs for your child are $9. If you register your child on the day of the race (April 26th) the registration fee will be $10. There is no registration fee for any child who is a Cheshire resident. The Kids Fun Run will start at 7:45 a.m. on the Cheshire High track, so be sure to wake your kids up early!
The Ion Bank Cheshire Half Marathon and 5K is a great event. The half marathon will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the 5k at 8:36 a.m. The male and female winners of the half marathon will receive round trip tickets from Jet Blue, as well as a trophy. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers of both the half marathon and 5K based on age group.
Besides running, there are other things going on at the Cheshire Half Marathon and 5K. Everyone in attendance is encouraged to check out the United Health Care Healthy & Active Living Festival. Event sponsors will have booths set up and everyone from runners, spectators, and even the general public can be a part of it.
The Ion Bank Cheshire Half Marathon and 5K is a fun event for the entire family. Last year there were over 3000 participants and there is expected to be more this year, so sign up today!
